Carson Palmer

Carson Palmer, the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, is saying that if the team does not trade him, he is going to retire from the game of football.  He is basically forcing the team to trade him, but apparenlty the are not willing to, so it will be intersting to see what transpires from here on out.  I personally believe it is rediculous to do this as a professional, because there are athletes in college right now who would kill to be a quarterback in the NFL, and Carson is just being greedy.  He really has nothing to complain about, he is making good money, and as a competitor, he should strive to make the team better.  Over all, I feel like he is being un-professional, and he should finish out his contract (he signed) in Cincinnati.

  1. Absolutely agree with you, this is ridiculous. This guy was the FIRST overall pick in the 2003 draft and hasn't proved much of anything in my eyes. Maybe it's due to the knee injury he suffered in the playoffs a few years ago, but there's no way he should come out and make a statement like this. He had two of the top Wide Receivers in the game last year in Chad Ochocinco and TO, yet he still couldn't carry his team to the playoffs. That's what the greats do, regardless of how their team is playing they carry their team. Carson Palmer has yet to do that, so there's absolutely no reason for him to come out and make a statement like this. Go back to the film room, practice your mechanics, and try to win a few games next year.
