Tweeting Trades

Well, as the 3:00pm NBA trade deadline on Thursday came and went, anybody could have followed along with a play-by-play report of what deals were being discussed because the social networking website called Twitter.  I went on Google and searched, NBA trade rumors, then I went to a website called Hoopshype, and clicked on their Twitter feed, which was basically a bunch of NBA reporters giving constant updates of trades that were about to go down.  It was the first time, as a fan, that I was able to see that detailed of information about trades as soon as those trades were being discussed.  I didn't have to wait until the 6:00pm Sportscenter to see what trades went down, i was able to read what was going on, as it was going on.  This new technology has spead up the rate of which information is given to the public, and this years trade deadline was a perfect example of how fast information can actually get to the public.  I find this to be a major advancement in technology, especially for people involved with sport communication.
