The Beginning of Another Long Season

The Major League Baseball season is now underway, and that means another long season for the Pittsburgh Pirates.  The Pirates are amongst one of the worst streaks in professional sport's history, which is having 18 consecutive losing seasons.  They are in a long phase of trying to rebuild their organization by stockpiling young talent, but as of now, nothing seems to be working.  I guess we will have to stay tuned this season to see if they can finally pull off a winning season, which would be a huge break through for the team.  It all starts tomorrow, when the Pirates take on the Cubs for their 2011 opening game...hopefully the Pirates can pull of the win so they will atleast have a winning record for a day.

  1. Yeah its that time of year again. Pirates win their opener big with a grand slam and home run by neil walker and McCutchen. Hopefully the pirates turn it around this year and keep their young guns.

  2. So far the Pirates have been looking pretty good. Fans can't think this is the year we hit .500 though just yet. We always start off good then fall apart during the middle of the season. It's too bad the season isn't shorter or we just may have a chance.

  3. The Pirates are going to turn it around but I think the main problem is in management. They have plenty of young talent and the addition of Clint Hurdle as the manager was a great move for the Pirates. But until I see their is a new general manager I will always be a little sceptical.
